"I Love A Piano" represents the culmination of Mark's orchestral writing to date. Not only that, all of the arrangements were conceived and created by Mark as well. The writing is colourful, rich, and often humourous, and takes full advantage of all the layering possibilities offered by full orchestra. And, it's available for booking now!

Mark has been singing in choirs, a capella groups, and conducting choral ensembles for two decades. He has written a number of arrangements and original choral works, all displaying a deeply personal knowledge of the capabilities of the voice, and taking full advantage. Recent productions of "Beethoven Lives Upstairs", and "Murder For Two" (where he plays 12 suspects in this madcap murder mystery) signal Mark's ever-increasing acting credits. This dynamic performer is at home on stage, no matter what the assignment.
With a wide dynamic range, and the ability to sound at home in any genre, Mark is an ideal cast member in a variety-style revue show.
Besides piano, Mark plays many instruments: harmonica, guitar, accordion, trumpet, keytar, mandolin, percussion, Irish flute, to name a few.
This original musical, with lyrics by David Rogers and music by Mark Payne, is a delightful comedy, and the music is fun, toe-tapping and memorable.

In addition to his many arrangements, Mark has written a number of original choral works, ranging from the poetry of Victor Hugo, to the Psalms, to original texts.
Mark has been performing as a classical concert pianist since his teens. He has done numerous solo recitals, focusing on the repertoire of the great romantic composers, with a special affinity for Brahms.
He has worked with inspired vocalists in art song recitals, covering all the great music of composers like Schubert, Schumann, Wolf, Brahms, as well as many contemporaries as well.
